The nighttime water bus cruise sets sail — enjoy the cool summer evening breeze

Since its launch, New Taipei City’s water bus has carried 3,500 passengers in just two weeks. Aligned with the tides of the Tamsui River, nighttime water bus services will be available from August 14 to 18 (with the latest departure at 9:00 PM). After a long day at work, office workers can gather friends for an evening cruise along the Tamsui River, enjoy the refreshing summer night air, and admire the river’s enchanting nightlife.

Director Zhao Shaolian of the Transportation Bureau stated that Zhongxiao Ferry Terminal, Dadaocheng Ferry Terminal, and Huajiang Ferry Terminal have all been equipped with nighttime lighting. During the nighttime sailing period, additional staff will be deployed at these three terminals to provide services. At 6:40 PM on August 14, the first nighttime departure from Zhongxiao Ferry Terminal to Dadaocheng Ferry Terminal will take place. On August 16, Huajiang Ferry Terminal will also join the nighttime service, with the latest departures for both routes at 9:00 PM.

The nighttime route passes by distinctive bridges such as the New Taipei Bridge, Huajiang Bridge, and Zhongxiao Bridge, all adorned with unique light displays. Passengers can also enjoy the riverside nightlife and the spectacular sight of city lights reflected on the water from the high-rise buildings along the shore. Coupled with the gentle evening breeze, travelers can momentarily escape the hustle and bustle of the daytime metropolis and immerse themselves in the romance and tranquility of New Taipei City and Taipei’s nighttime scenery.
