Located at Corner Bakery 63, the Ambassador Bakery near Airport MRT A9 Linkou Station, the store has sold nearly 100,000 bread items in just over half a year since its opening, gaining high popularity in Linkou. Recently, it announced that Wednesdays will be its Brand Day, offering 15% off on all breads and desserts every Wednesday to attract customers. The already reasonably priced five-star bakery products are now even more affordable.
In addition to the 15% off Brand Day promotion on Wednesdays, the Linkou Ambassador Bakery has introduced two star products. One is the “Pearl Sugar Belgian Waffle,” recreated to replicate the favorite treat of the Prince of Liège, Belgium in the 18th century. The other is the “Handcrafted Taro Cream Puff with Flaky Pastry,” which is three times the size of a regular cream puff and perfect for sharing with the whole family. The “Pearl Sugar Belgian Waffle” is said to have been beloved by the prince. Legend has it that in the mid-18th century, the prince of Liège grew tired of his monotonous breakfast. After much effort, the royal chef added pearl sugar extracted from beets to the dough. When baked at high temperature, the sugar melted to form a crispy coating, giving the waffle a delightful sugary glaze that won the prince’s heart—and subsequently captured the world’s taste buds.
The “Handcrafted Taro Cream Puff with Flaky Pastry” is perfect for sharing with family and friends. With its crispy exterior and soft interior, a single bite reveals a taro-flavored filling bursting with aroma. To achieve the crisp texture of the layered pastry, it requires nearly two hours of patient baking. The dense taro filling contains no artificial flavorings. Though the preparation is complex and labor-intensive, this generous, natural recipe offers a new choice for shareable desserts, especially well-suited for the family-oriented residents of Linkou.
The Ambassador Bakery also compiled a list of its Top 5 most popular breads since opening. Taking the top spot is the daily bestseller “Flaky Pastry Red Bean,” featuring flaky, wheat-scented crust wrapped around soft and fluffy red beans from Pingtung, making it a customer favorite. In second place is the “Happy Sweet Potato,” filled with sweet No. 57 sweet potato paste and bursting with French countryside charm. Rounding out the top five are the mildly tangy and sweet “Wine-Infused Longan,” the Linkou-exclusive “Green Tea Flaxseed” with a refreshing aftertaste, and the chewy, savory “Mentaiko France.” To thank customers for their strong support, until February 14, 2018, customers can enjoy 10% off when purchasing any of these top five breads.
