Joint Procession of 10 Major Temples Brings Weekend Blessings in Pingzhen

The "12 Major Hakka Festivals" organized by the Council of Hakka Affairs has reached its grand finale, with a two-day, nationwide first-ever joint walking procession of deities from 10 major temples kicking off in Pingzhen on Saturday (the 7th).

"Kirin Welcomes the Deities, Blessings for Peace" is the highlight event of the 12 Major Hakka Festivals in September. At 8 a.m. on the 7th, the procession began at Fuming Temple, which houses Taiwan’s largest statue of the Heavenly Official, with thousands of devotees escorting the palanquins and joining the prayer walk, covering the full two-day, 28-kilometer journey on foot.

On the evening of the 8th, a "Thanksgiving for Peace" evening event will feature a ritual where participants can pass through the palanquin to receive blessings. Those who do will be gifted a "Kirin Blessing" or "Spring Breeze Luck" amulet, which have been blessed by fire from the Three Officials.
