Enjoy the Eight Scenic Spots of Chengcing Lake for free！Starting from September 18, residents of Kaohsiung can enter Chengcing Lake Park free of charge by presenting their ID card, saving NT$100 on the admission fee. There are 5,000 free entry slots available per day, with a maximum of 7,000 visitors permitted daily. In addition to walking around the park, visitors can also use electric shuttle buses. To cater to the biking trend, cycling within the park is also allowed, offering a relaxing way to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Chengcing Lake.

The free admission policy for Kaohsiung residents to enter Chengcing Lake has been under discussion for a long time and has finally been finalized. As parts of Chengcing Lake fall within a water source protection zone, there are certain restrictions for sightseeing, including a ban on bringing pets such as cats and dogs. The park will be cleared of visitors every day after 9:00 PM, and it is closed every Monday. Regarding crowd control, a digital display showing the number of remaining available entry slots will be installed at the park entrance.

Taiwan Water Corporation’s Tourism Division stated that after the completion of the new main gate design project in October, a bus stop will be added to make visiting Chengcing Lake more convenient. For those driving, the park provides over 700 parking spaces—NT$40 for cars and NT$30 for motorcycles, while bicycles can be parked for free. Currently, this free entry benefit is only available to Kaohsiung residents who must show their ID cards; visitors from other cities and counties still need to purchase tickets.

Although visitor numbers to Chengcing Lake have been declining in recent years, its famous Eight Scenic Spots remain highly popular. These include: Plum Ridge Spring Dawn, Zigzag Bridge Moon Fishing, Willow Bank and Lotus Gate, High Mound Sea View, Deep Woods Birdsong, Lake and Mountain Aura, Three Pavilions Panoramic View, and Penglai Golden Surging.
