The lakes on Coron Island in the Philippines are crystal-clear — the ultimate healing getaway for office workers

Coron Island is a relatively new tourist destination in the Philippines, with seven beautiful and crystal-clear lakes, making it an ideal healing spot for office workers. Located at the northernmost tip of the Calamian Islands in northern Palawan, Philippines, it is a horseshoe-shaped island situated midway between Manila and Puerto Princesa. The city of Coron comprises Coron Island, part of Busuanga Island, and over 20 other smaller islands, featuring pristine white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, limestone cliffs, and breathtaking landscapes.

The island also offers other fascinating attractions such as hot springs, volcanic lakes, over 500 limestone caves, and rich marine ecosystems. Some parts of the island are covered by pristine mangrove forests. Among its seven lakes, Kayangan Lake is considered the cleanest and clearest in the entire Philippines.

The main industries on Coron Island are fishing and tourism, and it is a very popular diving destination. The globally renowned Forbes Travel Guide has praised Coron Island as one of the world's top ten diving spots. The most famous attraction is the 12 Japanese warships from World War II that lie submerged underwater. Snorkeling at Siete Pecados reveals astonishing underwater marine life and coral reefs.

Coron Island also serves as an excellent hub for island-hopping trips. You can visit places like the Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary and Black Island. Renting a boat allows you to explore the surrounding islands, with their stunning beaches, seascapes, and rich biodiversity. You can swim, kayak, and snorkel almost anywhere.
