The Yellow Duck craze continues to sweep the nation. Riding this wave of yellow-themed popularity, not only in travel and accommodations but also in merchandise, the cute yellow duck has become a consumer favorite. Hotels in Kaohsiung have launched a Yellow Duck set meal, featuring dishes made with duck meat. The meal is topped off with classic desserts shaped like the little yellow duck. Customers can also opt to pay extra for a sculpted "Macaroon Duck" made using macaron techniques, plus receive an entry ticket to the 74th-floor observation deck to see the Yellow Duck. The business revealed that they have already sold 400 sets of these duck-themed meals, showing just how limitless the business opportunities from the Yellow Duck craze are.

Using "duck" as the central theme of the meal, Chef Huang Jun-Yi of the Grand Hi Lai Hotel (formerly the Kaohsiung Regent) particularly recommends the "Grilled Yilan Wild Duck Breast with Black Cherry Sauce" in the set. The specially selected Yilan wild duck is slow-roasted at a low temperature on the skin side to allow the fat beneath to render out, letting the heat penetrate the meat. The duck fat is then paired with a specially prepared fresh black cherry sauce, along with mashed potatoes, resulting in a dish that is smooth and free from any fishy taste.
The set also includes other duck-based main dishes such as "Duck Liver Mousse Salad with White Wine Jelly Orange Sauce" and "Creamy Pumpkin Soup with Smoked Duck Breast." Among them, "Cola Duck" is one of the more popular choices. The duck leg meat is seasoned with pepper, salt, and other spices, then marinated and simmered in duck broth until the meat becomes tender. The meat is then shredded and stir-fried with onions until soft, while being seasoned and shaped before being coated in batter and deep-fried. The "Cola Duck" is juicy and tender, offering a sweeter and fresher flavor than regular potato croquettes.

In addition, the set comes with a choice of two Yellow Duck-themed cocktails—"Hello Rubber" or "E-Be Duck"—as well as the super-cute "Yellow Duck Mousse Cake." The cake is made with local Taiwanese pineapple puree and pulp mixed with gelatin, and is further enhanced with spiced cookies for added aroma.
Dessert chef-recommended items like the little duck biscuits and Macaroon Duck are especially popular among female customers. The little duck-shaped biscuits, which can sell hundreds per day, are drizzled with yellow icing and feature specially colored mouths and eyes. The top-selling "Macaroon Duck" is specially crafted using macaron techniques. With a base of almond flour, powdered sugar, and meringue, the filling is piped into little duck-shaped molds. The result is a crispy yet not greasy treat with a subtle lemon fragrance.
