Traveling by high-speed rail will be even more convenient in the future. Starting today, passengers using the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail T Express” mobile ticketing service will have the final booking cutoff time shortened to just 5 minutes before departure. With a simple “beep,” passengers can quickly pass through the gate and board the train, avoiding long queues.

The “Taiwan High-Speed Rail T Express” was launched in 2011 and is available on all three major smartphone platforms (iOS, Android, and Windows Phone). However, to book tickets, passengers had to do so at least one hour before the scheduled departure of their train. To provide more convenient service for travelers, Taiwan High-Speed Rail has adjusted the mobile ticketing cutoff time starting today (the 24th).

On all three major smartphone platforms, the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail T Express” app has also added features to remind passengers of boarding times and payment notifications. In addition, for convenience store ticket refund services, passengers can now cancel some tickets up to 30 minutes before departure, without having to cancel all tickets and rebook as in the past. However, this service is only available between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, and a handling fee of NT$20 applies per ticket.
