Every year in May and June, the golden clusters of Cassia fistula flowers are a striking symbol of early summer. Blown by the wind, they scatter across the ground, creating the illusion of a golden shower. These beautiful blossoms can be spotted all over northern, central, and southern Taiwan, but this year’s first wave kicks off right here in Tainan!

Cassia fistula trees can be found both in downtown Tainan and its outskirts. When the flowering season arrives, the city is adorned with vibrant colors that are dazzlingly beautiful. Recently, many netizens have been posting photos of Cassia fistula on Instagram, taken at spots such as Sections 2 and 3 of Lin Sen Road in Tainan City, and the Performing Arts Hall of the Cultural Center in Guiren District. The trees' gradual shift from green to yellow displays stunning layered beauty, leaving travelers amazed by the romance of it all!

In addition, the entire stretch of Gao Fa San Road, Da Wu 1st Road, and Da Wu 2nd Road near Tainan High-Speed Rail Station is currently in full bloom with Cassia fistula flowers. The bright yellow petals scattered on the ground reflect the half-green, half-yellow beauty of the trees above, adding a poetic touch. If you’re looking to admire the Cassia fistula, other recommended spots include Lian Tan in Baihe District and Zhao’an Cuo, Far East University of Science and Technology and the southern end of Shugu Avenue (South 135) in Xinxing District, the area near Changrong Road on Minsheng Road in Xinying District, the Golden Tunnel on Dongfeng Road in North District,巴克礼纪念公园 in East District, the red brick pathway on the east side of Ziqiang Campus at National Cheng Kung University, the campus of Tainan University in the Chengcheng District of Central-Western District, and the area near Zhongyi Elementary School (jㄗ恿止?埃).

The Tainan City Tourism Bureau holds an annualCassia fistula Flower Festival, which will take place this year from June 4th to June 18th. Native Cassia fistula trees are planted abundantly in front of the Youth Activity Center, near the Tiger Moon Suspension Bridge, and along the lakeside pathway on the north bank.
