National Day Fireworks in Hsinchu – "Sisters" to Headline Three Weeks of Celebrations Starting Sept. 28

For the first time, this year’s National Day fireworks will be held in Hsinchu, with shows every weekend for three consecutive weeks starting on the 28th. The first event kicks off at Dongguanpu, featuring performances headlined by popular entertainer “Sister” Xie Jinying. On National Day night at Hsinchu Fishing Port, the most spectacular fireworks display in the history of National Day celebrations will light up the sky for a full 20 minutes, including the largest-diameter fireworks ever launched. Local delicacies such as Hsinchu-style meatballs will also be available at food stalls.

The Hsinchu City Government announced that the “102nd National Day Fireworks Blooming in the Windy City” event will run for three weeks, with each of the three shows featuring a 20-minute fireworks display. The first show on the evening of the 28th at 7 p.m. will be headlined by entertainer Xie Jinying, with performances by Jay Chou, Wei Bird, Livia Wan, and Luan Dan A-Xiang. The second show on October 5 at 6:30 p.m., themed “Hai Shan Fashion Night,” will be co-hosted by comedian Pang Changjiang and actor Xu Xiaoshun, featuring performances by powerful vocalists Cai Qiufeng, Xiulan Maya, and Cai Xiaohu.

The highlight of the celebrations, the National Day fireworks at Hsinchu Nankang Fishing Port, will feature the largest-diameter fireworks ever launched, and for the first time, they will be set off over the open sea. With low, medium, and high-altitude bursts, the display promises to be dazzling. The city government has also gathered local Hsinchu snacks such as meatballs, rice balls, and tangyuan (sweet rice balls) to create a food area where visitors can enjoy both the fireworks and delicious treats.

The city government noted that the Hsinchu Post Office will issue a limited edition of 200 sets of customized stamps titled “Double Tenth National Day Fireworks Blooming in the Windy City” on the 28th, with each set priced at NT$150. Cultural and creative merchandise related to Hsinchu will also be on sale during the National Day events.
