The Yellow Rubber Duck craze sweeps through Kaohsiung ! According to statistics from the Kaohsiung City Government, as of October 7, the number of visitors has exceeded 2.31 million. However, those wishing to see the Yellow Rubber Duck leisurely floating in Kaohsiung Harbor should hurry, as the Kaohsiung City Government announced on the 8th that this exhibition will hold its closing ceremony at 4 p.m. on October 20, after which the Yellow Rubber Duck will slowly return to the Pier-2 Art Center.

With the Yellow Rubber Duck exhibition in Kaohsiung entering its final countdown, Information Bureau Director Lai Rui-long stated that to allow all citizens and tourists to bid farewell to the Duck together, the closing ceremony will officially begin at 4 p.m. on the 20th. The exhibition team has prepared two tugboats, one workboat, and has asked divers to attach towing cables to the Duck’s floating platform. After the performance concludes, around 4:30 p.m., the Duck will be towed back from Glory Pier to the Pier-2 Art Center by tugboat. This will be followed by lifting it ashore, deflating it, and packing it—all carried out to high standards, with the entire process expected to be completed by 6 p.m.

To serve visitors from across the region, free shuttle buses will begin operating earlier at 10 a.m. during the two weekend holiday periods: October 10–13 and October 19–20. During peak hours, bus frequency will be increased to every 5 minutes. Additionally, the inner lanes in both directions on Youth Road (between Zhonghua Road and Haibian Road), and the westbound inner lane on Youth Road (between Zhongshan Road and Zhonghua Road) will be designated as public transport-only lanes. Except for shuttle buses, coaches, buses, taxis, and emergency vehicles, other vehicles are prohibited. Left turns by cars will also be restricted at intersections along the route. The city government urges everyone to use public transportation to visit Glory Pier to see the Duck.
