The yellow duck in Taoyuan is set to make its official debut on the 26th (of this month). As Xinyi is close to the coastal waters of Taoyuan County, the strong northeast monsoon is generating winds as powerful as those of a mild typhoon. Visitors planning to check it out should be well-prepared with warm clothing, windproof gear, and rain protection. Additionally, to minimize disruption to local residents, the duck will not be open in the evening, and there will be no lighting facilities, so those hoping to take “night shots” of the duck should reconsider.

The globally popular yellow duck, after concluding its exhibition in Kaohsiung, will showcase a different rural charm at Houhu Pond in Xinyi Township, Taoyuan County, from the 26th to November 10th. According to observations by a Central News Agency reporter on-site, the winds along the pond’s edge are quite strong, with peak gusts reaching force 7 or 8 in recent days — giving the sensation of a mild typhoon approaching. A police officer stationed in Xinyi Township for many years noted that after November, winds in the area grow even stronger, with temperatures about 3–4°C lower than in urban areas, so warm clothing is essential.

In addition, traffic control measures will be in place at the event site. Visitors will need to walk at least 2 kilometers from the control points to reach the duck exhibition area, so elderly individuals and young children with limited mobility should be prepared. During the event period, to reduce disturbance to local residents, the site will not be open in the evening, and there will be no lighting around the pond.
