This year, Universal Studios Japan (USJ) brings another round of heartfelt winter experiences. Two brand-new winter entertainment features include a newly unveiled Christmas tree and spectacular stage show, along with the ever-popular Minions Christmas Crazy Party parade. Another highlight is “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” where Hogsmeade transforms into a snowy village and a brand-new castle show lights up the night—offering not just romance but also an exclusive Japanese winter atmosphere you can only enjoy at USJ.

This winter, Universal Studios Japan is packed with activities from morning to night. In addition to must-ride attractions, special parades and Christmas shows before January 8th are unmissable. Earlier this spring, the world’s largest Minions-themed area debuted, and come December, the seasonal “Minions Christmas Crazy Party” takes center stage. Every day in the Hollywood area, Minions dressed in Christmas outfits will dance with guests during the parade. While enjoying the event, look up—and don’t forget to glance down at the paper snowflakes on the ground, where USJ has hidden delightful surprises.

As night falls, two major winter highlights await. First, a brand-new Christmas tree that set a Guinness World Record for the most lights, and the award-winning Christmas stage show “Angel’s Miracle III ~The Voice of an Angel~,” which won the prestigious “Outstanding Achievement Award,” kick off the beautiful evening. With dazzling lights, spectacular fireworks, moving music, and performances, the grand finale is the lighting of the Christmas tree. The moment the fireworks burst as the lights illuminate, it brings the warmest holiday feelings to the cold winter season. Be sure to grab a hot cocoa beforehand and secure a seat in the New York area early—you might miss the best views if you’re late.

Next, head over to “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” Stroll through the snow-covered Hogsmeade and make your way to Hogwarts Castle to catch the magical winter show “Hogwarts Magical Night ~ Winter Magic ~,” exclusive to the wizarding world. It recreates the annual Hogwarts Christmas ball and showcases stunning Christmas magic that amplifies the festive spirit. Before leaving Hogsmeade, stop by the “Enchanted Christmas Tree” to try your hand at casting holiday spells. The event runs until February 28th next year—come experience a truly magical Christmas unlike any other.

Beyond the activities, a variety of exclusive Christmas-themed food and limited-edition merchandise await. At the “Three Broomsticks” restaurant in Hogsmeade, be sure to try the popular limited-edition “Butterbeer,” and don’t miss the winter-exclusive “Christmas Feast” platter, featuring a must-have roasted whole chicken to share with friends. Step outside to snap photos of Hogwarts’ stunning reflection in the lake and soak in the warm, festive holiday ambiance.

In the Minions-themed area, check out the Christmas-limited strawberry cream sandwich cookies, as well as grilled turkey legs and hot cocoa marshmallow cones from the nearby food truck. Successfully participate in a special event and you can even upgrade your turkey leg to a jumbo size on the spot. Meanwhile, USJ collectors shouldn’t miss the season-limited specialty items, including a Christmas-themed Minions popcorn bucket.
