Standing 23 meters tall with 45,000 LED lights   The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York is Lit

The Christmas bells have begun to ring. Before counting down the days to 2014, immerse yourself in the festive holiday spirit first. At the plaza in front of the renowned Rockefeller Center in New York (referred to as an “American national historic landmark”),a massive Christmas tree standing 23 meters tall and covered with 45,000 LED lights, topped with a 2-meter-high Swarovski star,was lit in the presence of the mayor and spectators, heralding the start of the Christmas holiday.

The tree-lighting ceremony attracted a large number of New Yorkers to join in the celebration. The event also featured live performances by Mary J. Blige, rock band Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel, and Mariah Carey. The Rockefeller Center Christmas lights will not only accompany New Yorkers through the holiday season but will also shine on into 2014 until January 7th.
