If you’re into hidden gem eateries, Dolce&Crepes is definitely the hidden gem of hidden gems. The shop is full of a laid-back vibe, yet the care put into every ingredient shines through in every bite. Dubbed by the owner as "the most evil creation in history," the black sugar cheese crepe surprises not only with its unique flavor but also with the unexpectedly delicious harmony between black sugar and cheese. The crispy exterior and stretchy filling showcase the chef’s extraordinary skills.
The storefront looks like a regular residential home, and guests are asked to take off their shoes upon entry. Owner Huang Xuezheng explains, "Because we want you to leave the world you know outside." Huang, along with two friends, runs Dolce&Crepes like a home — there's even a bed inside. The unpretentious feel has become its unique charm. Huang laughs that it started as just "a secret base for close friends," but when neighbors smelled the coffee and asked if they sold any, this quirky little café was born.

When it comes to the food, Huang Xuezheng is the creative soul. With deep involvement in cooking and no fixed boundaries, he often adds new dishes through creativity — like feeding wine to crabs while cooking them. He gives hairy crabs aged Shaoxing wine and flower crabs either rice wine or white wine, completely reimagining what cooking can be.
The “evil” black sugar cheese crepe features a crispy crust and a soft, stretchy filling. The rich aroma of black sugar and cheese complement each other without overpowering, and it doesn’t stick to your teeth or tongue — a uniquely delicious crepe you’ve never tasted before.

Another super special dish is the "Mushroom Juice Grilled Balloon" — which turns out to be marinated thousand-layer tofu. It’s soaked in a broth made from four different types of mushrooms, then brushed with a secret sauce and slow-roasted in a high-temperature oven. The tofu puffs up like a balloon as it heats, resulting in a crispy exterior and tender interior. Not only is the name unique, but the texture is amazing too.

Dolce&Crepes is a place that exists because of food. The three owners are having the time of their lives, and stepping into this space feels like joining a big family, instantly immersed in a joyful atmosphere. Huang Xuezheng shared that one couple told him after dining here that the wife had just been diagnosed with cancer, but this place helped them forget about the weight of the illness — which deeply moved him. Just like the logo of Dolce&Crepes — a smiling pig with wings — Huang says it’s “a pig that fell from the sky, bringing heavenly cuisine that’s sweet and happy.”
