Welcome the Dawn in Cool Style – Bikini Road Race Kicks Off on New Year’s Day

To celebrate 2014, Taitung County Government is hosting the 3rd“Bikini Taimali Beach Road Race,”which will kick off coolly on the morning of New Year’s Day 2014. The bikini category is only open to women, who must not only complete the 5-kilometer run but also wear swimsuits throughout the race; otherwise, they will be considered in violation and disqualified. Additionally, there are mixed-gender categories including a 10-kilometer competitive race, a 5-kilometer fun run, and a 2-kilometer experience run.

The highly acclaimed Taitung Bikini Beach Road Race attracted 800 participants in 2013, and hopes to reach new heights in 2014. There are numerous prizes, including trophies and cash awards ranging from NT$1,000 to NT$8,000 for the top 10 in the bikini category, the 10 most photogenic runners, and winners of the fun run category.

Registration for all categories ends on the 10th of this month, with the 2-kilometer experience run also accepting on-site registration on the day of the race. All participants will receive souvenirs such as a commemorative T-shirt and a finisher’s medal.
