The Yellow Rubber Duck in Keelung Opens on December 21st – Traffic Control to Be Implemented in Front of Marine Plaza

After traveling through Kaohsiung’s Glory Harbor and Taoyuan’s Xinzhuang Pond, the Yellow Rubber Duck has completed its four-month tour around Taiwan and will finally arrive at Keelung Marine Plaza on December 21st. On the opening day, Zhongyi 1st Road, which borders the exhibition site at Marine Plaza, and Gangxi Street in front of Keelung Railway Station, will be closed from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with traffic control measures in place.

According tothe official fan page of the Keelung Yellow Rubber Duck, the sections subject to traffic control on the opening day of December 21st include Zhongyi 1st Road, Gangxi Street, and Xiao’er Road. Part of the lanes on Zhongyi 1st Road near Marine Plaza will be closed, adjusting the whole road to a one-way street toward Xiao’si Road. Gangxi Street will only allow access as far as the railway station, with no turns permitted onto Zhongyi 1st Road. Xiao’er Road will have the lanes toward Marine Plaza closed, and the lanes will only be open for vehicles heading to the highway and leaving Keelung urban area.

Additionally, on the opening day, the East Coast Viaduct will only allow buses to pass. The organizers recommend that after entering Keelung City, vehicles can park at Liuhe Parking Lot according to signage. The nearby Dong 3 and Dong 4 Piers of the Port Authority will serve as temporary intercity bus transfer stations. For routes toward Shipai, Xindian, Hsinchu, and Taichung, passengers should wait at Xiao’si Road.

On the opening day, city buses in Keelung will also change their terminal stop to the loop stop on Ren’er Road and will not stop at the Bus Terminal or Chenghuang Temple.
