Explore old streets and admire historic sites – The Taoyuan Winter Love Daxi Bike Ride kicks off on the 14th and 15th

To promote cycling tours, the Taoyuan County Government is hosting the “Winter Love Daxi – Discovering the Beauty of Humanities” themed travel event on the 14th and 15th, with two sessions at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM respectively. Participants can bring their own bikes or borrow one of the over ten free bicycles provided on-site.

The government has specially arranged volunteer guides to take participants on an intellectual journey that includes exploring old streets, admiring historic sites, viewing rice fields, and flower seas. The round trip takes about 1.5 hours; the cycling route passes by Wude Hall, the old Daxi urban area, then leads to Yuemei Ancient Trail and the Li Tengfang Ancient House.

Daxi was ranked first in the 2012 “Taiwan’s Top Ten Small Tourist Towns” vote. Famous local attractions include the Shimen Reservoir and the Baroque-style Daxi Old Street.
