The "Christmas Gala Closest to the Heavens" in Lishan – Taichung Teddy Bears Join In

The "Christmas Gala Closest to the Heavens" will take place on December 24th at the Lishan Church, featuring not only 3D light sculpture architectural projection art but also inviting two teddy bears currently on display at the Taichung Teddy Bear Carnival to come celebrate Christmas in Lishan. Starting December 17th, the "Lishan Tea Teddy Bear" and the "Atayal Teddy Bear," originally located on Caotun Road, will take a special bus to Lishan to spend Christmas with children and visitors from remote areas.

The 2013 Lishan Art Season will run from the 24th to the 28th, kicking off with the "Teddy Bears Come to Lishan" event. The two teddy bears will be on display starting December 17th. Other activities include the "Santa Claus Is Here" 3D light sculpture show, a Starlight Boulevard, the Weijin Dragon Lion Martial Arts War Drum Troupe, street performer Fire Major Club, the Lishan Big Drum Team, and the Zigeili Band.

The Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that this is the Christmas gala closest to the heavens. The ancient Lishan Church will witness Taiwan’s first-ever light snowfall, and the newly created 3D light sculpture architectural projection "Santa Claus Is Here" will premiere on Christmas Eve. The old church will transform into Santa Claus, presenting a dreamlike evening feast under the starlight every night during the event at 7:00 PM, 7:30 PM, 8:00 PM, and 8:30 PM.
