"New Year's Eve Trilogy" Lights Up Tainan City – Annie Yi and Yoga Lin Join the High-Energy Performances

After bidding farewell to the last sunset of 2013 at Jingzijiao Salt Fields near Beimen, the highlight of New Year’s Eve—the most eco-friendly and lively "2014 Tainan FUN Happiness" countdown party—takes center stage. Enjoy high-energy performances by artists like Annie Yi, Yoga Lin, Sodagreen, and others, then head to Erliao in Zuozhen to welcome the first sunrise of 2014. Bathed in the morning light, make wishes for an even smoother new year.

After watching the last sunset of the year at Beimen Jingzijiao Tile-Plate Salt Fields—one of Taiwan’s oldest and best-preserved salt fields—head to the main event at the square in front of Tainan High-Speed Rail Station. This year’s most exciting and joyful countdown concert features chart-topping band Sodagreen, internet sensation Annie Yi, Golden Horse newcomer Yoga Lin, and theme song diva Ding Dang, among many other big-name performers at the "2014 Tainan FUN Happiness" party.

This year, just like previous years, Tainan City Government is sticking to its green and low-carbon theme, aiming to deliver a surprise unlike any other. At the "2014 Tainan FUN Happiness" countdown party, the city government will present a stunning "Spectacular Dream Water Dance Light Show," which will dazzle the crowd. As the countdown begins and the artists lead the final cheer, the water dance will paint the most perfect finale for 2013 and usher in 2014. As 2014 begins, don’t miss the sunrise welcome event. Go to Erliao in Zuozhen, the lowest-altitude sunrise spot in Taiwan, to witness the first rays of 2014. Amid the majestic layered mountains and the spectacular sea of clouds, the slowly rising sun will cast a dreamlike ink-painting-like glow over the forests.

On the day of the countdown party, certain road sections will be under traffic control from 2:00 PM on December 31 to 3:00 AM on January 1, 2014. Controlled areas include Guiren 8th Road (from Guiren Boulevard to Zhongzheng South Road) and Guiren Boulevard (from Guiren 2nd Road to Guiren 12th Road)—parking is completely prohibited.
