Panda cub Yuan Zai makes public debut; “Panda Shuttle Route 123” also launches

The highly adorable panda cub Yuan Zai made its public debut on the 6th. The Taipei City Zoo stated that in addition to taking the MRT or various buses to see the panda, the Taipei City Department of Transportation has also introduced a free weekend shuttle bus, “Panda Shuttle Route 123,” which departs from the Xinyi Shopping District and heads to the Zoo Station. Drivers can park their cars at the Fuzhong Parking Lot and present their parking ticket at the zoo for a stamp to enjoy a 6-hour complimentary parking offer.Click here for more photos of Yuan Zai

The zoo noted that the “Panda Shuttle Route 123” will operate on weekends and during the Lunar New Year holiday period from the 11th to February 9th, running from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with a bus departing every 10 to 15 minutes. The shuttle departs from the Municipal Government Station, picking up passengers at the MRT Municipal Government Station, 101 International购物中心, and Xinyi Administrative Center, then travels via the Xinyi Expressway before stopping at the MRT Muzha Station and finally arriving at the Zoo Station.

Due to limited parking around the zoo, visitors who wish to drive can park at the Fuzhong Parking Lot and take the Panda Shuttle to get there. During the shuttle’s operating hours, showing a zoo admission ticket or stamp allows for a 6-hour free parking period, saving NT$180. The zoo also mentioned that from the 6th to February 10th, the daily parking cap around the zoo will be raised from NT$200 per day to an uncapped rate of NT$40 to NT$60 per hour.
