Polar Vortex Strikes – Breathtaking Frozen Views at Niagara Falls

Cold and damp winter weather often disrupts travel plans and causes frustration, but bad weather isn't all bad. Currently, North America is being hit by a polar vortex, with the coldest air in 20 years breaking low-temperature records in many areas. While people are suffering, the spectacular beauty of Niagara Falls on the U.S.-Canada border has emerged — the falling water has unexpectedly "frozen," attracting many photographers to capture the scene.

Although everyone hopes the polar vortex will leave soon, for Niagara Falls, it couldn’t have come at a better time. The ongoing "Winter Festival of Lights" is transforming the area around the falls into a colorful wonderland with 3 million lights, along with concerts, fireworks, and a water park. The event will run until the end of January. Those who want to join in are reminded to dress warmly to avoid turning into human icicles!
