Finalists Announced for World’s Best Job – Marianas Tourism Bureau Adds Free Flights

The search for the world’s best job has entered its final three-day decisive phase, with the “final three” now selected. Who will land this incredible one-week job with a salary of NT$60,000? The Marianas Tourism Bureau issued its final announcement today (10th), stating that in the last three days, anyone who goes online to predict the winner could win a free flight to the Marianas to experience its blue seas and skies.

“People are Taiwan’s most beautiful scenery!” said the Marianas Tourism Bureau, expressing its desire to share the beauty of the Marianas with more people. Therefore, they selected interns to visit the Marianas Islands—to get to know the world and let the world know Taiwan. After three months of intense selection, the top three finalists for the 2014 Marianas Internship have finally emerged. On January 14th, one representative will be chosen to head to the Marianas and undergo a series of training sessions with the Tourism Bureau.

The final three internship candidates include Tu Jie, a rising star in event hosting. At 26, she hosts shows at various expos and is a classically trained comedic actress—wearing elegant morning attire for hosting by day and donning costumes for comedic performances by night. There’s also swimming coach Lin Shi-Wang, a charismatic trainer who worked as an island guide for two years, completed a solo bike ride around Taiwan upon returning home, and is now a private swim instructor. And finally, there’s teacher Lin Yong-Qing, a 50-year-old “beauty over 50” who recently earned her master’s degree in Sports Health from Taipei Medical University. A mother of two, she consistently wins triathlon and marathon events despite being the underdog.

The Tourism Bureau’s internship program seeks creative and talented individuals to take on the important role of tourism ambassadors, promoting the beauty of the Marianas Islands to the people of Taiwan. The Marianas Islands consist of 14 islands including Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, and are known as “the best-kept secret garden of U.S. territories.” With tourism as their main industry, the Marianas offer diverse sightseeing resources and are the perfect destination for gourmet food and leisure.

The Marianas Tourism Ambassador, after three months of selection, will hold its finals on January 14th. This event received 398 creative video submissions through open auditions, with 14 candidates selected for online voting. The three most popular candidates have now emerged. From 6:00 PM on January 10, 2014, to noon on the 14th, visitthe Marianas Tourism Bureau’s Facebook fan pageto predict which of the three candidates will win—you could receive a round-trip Asiana Airlines ticket to Saipan and a one-night double occupancy stay at PIC Pacific Island Resort in Saipan.
