Eye candy and delicious food await you – Korea’s “Oppa Hunk Show” provides healing for women from Taiwan, Japan, and Korea

Autumn travel in Korea isn’t just about chasing autumn leaves, chasing K-stars, shopping for cosmetics, or trying Korean food – the romantic image of the “Oppa” from K-dramas has also captured fans’ hearts. And now, in addition to the usual, visiting a hunk show featuring muscular Korean men has become another unique way for Asian women to enjoy Korea. Although the live performances are in Korean, they kick off with a lineup of buff hunks, plus high-energy audience interaction. VIP tickets often sell out quickly and are especially popular among female independent travelers from Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.

Korean restaurants are popping up one after another on the streets of Taiwan, so when you visit Korea, you definitely can't miss the chance to sample the local flavors. Many travelers are drawn to Korea to try their hand at making Korean food. Seoul’s Traditional Korean Cuisine Lab first takes visitors to explore Seoul’s largest medicinal herb market, “Gwangjang Market,” then heads to a traditional Korean house classroom where they prepare a variety of dishes. From home-cooked meals and street snacks to traditional desserts, all are guided by experts. The travel and attraction booking website Tripbaa Fun Guide points out that Taiwanese travelers are keen on experiencing K-star-level makeup photography and Korean cooking classes in Korea. The One-Day K-Star Beauty Makeover program comes with a personal translator, helps you create a K-style beauty look, and includes professional studio portrait photography. Both the styling room and the studio are places frequented by Korean celebrities, and you might even bump into stars getting styled or photographed. This experience attracts independent travelers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

In addition, the Asian travel experience platform KKDay recently started selling tickets for the “Strongest Hunk Show in Korea,” targeting young budget-conscious women as well as middle-aged women who love following Korean pop culture. The show is open only to women aged 19 and above. At the start, the host introduces each hunk Oppa and their hobbies. Through different themes and dances, the show encourages women to embrace their inner desires and relieve everyday stress.

Although the performance is in Korean, foreign visitors can still generally follow along, and the hunks interact with the audience, which is why VIP tickets for the hunk show often sell out. Especially noticeable is the enthusiasm of local Korean women for the show, with around 85% of the audience being local women, followed by visitors from Japan and Taiwan.
