Enjoy the 101 fireworks from 350M above sea level!“Love at Guanyinshan New Year’s Eve Party” adds romance

Whoosh！Just over two weeks left before we ring in 2018！Have you decided where to celebrate New Year’s Eve? Head to the Northern Coast！Take in the blue sea and sky, enjoy the beautiful scenery and delicious food！The “2018 Love at Guanyinshan New Year’s Eve Party,” organized by the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (hereinafter referred to as the North Coast Administration), will kick off at 9:00 PM on December 31 (Sunday) with a New Year’s music concert and fair at the Guanyinshan Visitor Center Plaza. Visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere of Greater Taipei at midnight from an altitude of 350 meters, along with the spectacular fireworks display from Taipei 101.

This event is a continuation of the thank-you party following the successful conclusion of the “Love at Guanyinshan Mountain Clean-up Activity.” It aims to allow all volunteers who participated in clearing years of accumulated trash on Guanyinshan—including members of the Tzu Chi Foundation, local residents, and visitors—to feel the joy of the “Love at Guanyinshan” achievements over the past year and to leave love forever in the “Leave No Trace” mountains.

Zhang Zhenqian, Director of the North Coast Administration, said that this year’s evening party has specially invited veteran Guanyinshan song composer A Jia (Lin Zhujia) to perform live, along with local friends including the dance troupe of the New Taipei City Wugu District Agricultural Tourism Promotion Association, the elders’ group from the Bali District Care Station, the Bade Li Band, the Xunfeng Alumni Traditional Chinese Music Orchestra, and street performers to take part in the wonderful program. There will also be booths from members of the Guanyinshan Farmer’s Market at the fair, allowing everyone to enjoy a natural New Year’s feast. As the countdown begins and 2017 ends, you can admire the dazzling and magical fireworks from Taipei 101. Wang Sixing, Director of the Guanyinshan Management Station of the North Coast Administration, mentioned that the Guanyinshan Xingshang Water-carrying Team will continue their spirit of offering tea at the evening event and at the Hard Man Ridge Tea Pavilion, providing free health teas and ginger soup to warm and encourage visitors during the cold winter. Everyone is welcome to make it to the summit of Hard Man Ridge to welcome the arrival of New Year’s Day 2018.

In addition to the exciting performances, the event site will also feature fair stalls offering warm and delicious snacks. The iconic “Eagles Want to Fly” light sculpture design of Guanyinshan will be set up around the visitor center, creating a dreamy atmosphere where you can fully enjoy the passionate call of nature amidst the steep mountain forests. Due to limited parking on the mountain, and in support of carbon reduction policies, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation. The North Coast Administration has specially arranged a paid shuttle bus (Orange 20) running between the Guanyinshan Visitor Center and Luzhou MRT Station Exit 1, with the last departure from the visitor center at 12:35 AM on New Year’s Day.
