During my last one-day trip to Taichung, I grabbed a bite near the Big City shopping mall. Right across the street was the BBQ N<贩x人之初胶原嫩骨面听说在公馆是小有名气的排队美食。
Nini’s Mini Review >> Reasonably priced, with generous portions, plus free unlimited soup and drinks—very satisfying.

Upon arrival, line up at the entrance to use the vending machine to order. After getting your ticket, hand it to the staff. Minimum spend is NT$160 per person, kids under 120 cm are exempt. No service charge.

At first, I was a bit puzzled by the sign—was it “Herbal Collagen Bone Marrow Noodle Soup” or “BBQ N<贩?!

There are storage compartments under the chairs for bags. Free self-service area for soup and drinks.

A variety of seasonings are available for self-service.

I didn’t expect the shop to even add chopped green onions to the complimentary miso soup. Plenty of tofu and kelp. The saltiness is just right for Taiwanese tastes.

Menu.

Noodle dishes range from NT$120 to NT$200.

Rice dishes are NT$180 to NT$240. Both noodles and rice are reasonably priced.

Full and ready for an outing. Our first meal of the day—and everyone was hungry and ordered a lot.

Osaka Pancake with Fried Chicken – NT$80

It’s kind of like takoyaki, except the octopus balls are replaced with chicken. The flavor is mild, with the aroma of dried bonito and seaweed powder. The chicken isn’t dry and isn’t too greasy. A safe choice.

Spicy Wontons – NT$60

Pretty unique to find this at BBQ N<

Grilled Mentaiko Potatoes – NT$80

Nini loves mentaiko (spicy cod roe)! It’s kind of magical how well it pairs with so many foods. And it’s also quite lucky—dishes that go with mentaiko just seem to shine. Took a bite and found the mentaiko layer almost as thick as the potato slice. Personally, I prefer softer potato texture, so a slightly mushier consistency would be even better.

Sirloin Beef N< $280

I originally wanted to try the Angus Beef N<,店家说卖完了,就推荐沙朗牛肉给我们。

The meat had a beautiful rose-pink color. The sauce had moderate saltiness and a pleasant hint of sweetness. The sirloin had a decent beefy flavor for the price.

Signature Grilled Beef N< $180

The rice soaked up the sweet grilled beef sauce and egg mixture, and with the beef covered in egg—it was N<

Korean-style BBQ Rice – NT$200

Comes with BBQ sauce. I personally prefer the original flavor without sauce. So far, every bowl of N<饭,所淋的烧肉酱汁都相同。

Stewed Collagen Tender Bone Noodles $160

This was my first time trying tender bone noodles, and I found it quite refreshing. The broth is light with a subtle herbal aroma, which everyone quite liked. Especially the tender bones, stewed until soft and translucent—when you bite into them, there's not even a hint of crunch from the cartilage. It’s like eating something slightly crisp, effortlessly breaking apart. It’s hard to imagine cartilage being stewed to this level.

The noodle itself has a nice bite. Even after soaking in the broth for a while, it didn’t become overly mushy. Absorbing the flavors, it carries a faint herbal fragrance that suits Nini’s taste.

If you're tired of the food court in the department store, come to Yakitori N.<贩x人之初胶原嫩骨面尝尝鲜。
