Cherry blossoms are blooming all over Taiwan, and the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off on January 31. Most notably, it is the only overseas location certified by Japan as an official "cherry blossom viewing spot." Visitors can enjoy over 5,000 blooming cherry trees during the day, and also experience the unique "night cherry blossoms," featuring a spectacular light and music show.

The cherry blossoms at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village were certified by Japan as an official "cherry blossom viewing spot" in 2013. In particular, the rare double-petal pale pink cherry blossoms have begun to bloom gradually. Park officials noted that the full bloom period is expected around February 10–20, followed by fuji cherry blossoms in late February. As for the "Night Cherry Blossom Show," this year the park introduces a "Magic Architecture Light Sculpture Show," where visitors can admire the stunning sight of cherry blossoms reflecting on the lake under the night lights.

Park officials said that visitors can sit under the cherry trees, where petals occasionally drift down. Aside from cherry blossom viewing, the popular Teddy Bear Exhibition that recently swept through Taichung is also currently on display here. The park is filled with teddy bears dressed in indigenous attire, and when riding the cable car, visitors will be accompanied by 125 giant teddy bears.

The Cherry Blossom Festival runs until early March, after which the lavender season begins. To celebrate the first anniversary of its Japan-certified "cherry blossom viewing spot" status, from February 6 to 28, visitors wearing traditional Japanese kimonos can enjoy a "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" deal for two people.
