Kaohsiung’s “Lakeside Cycling Trail” Opens – Head to the Viewing Platform to Admire the Scenic Beauty of Guanyin Lake

In recent years, Kaohsiung City has been dedicated to improving its network of urban cycling paths, which now totals 600 kilometers across various locations, allowing both local residents and visitors from other counties to enjoy a “low-carbon trip” by bike at any time. The “Lakeside Cycling Trail” located in the Guanyin Lake area, which has been under renovation since 2013, has also been completed and is set to open on January 29.

The one-kilometer Lakeside Cycling Trail in the Guanyin Lake area has undergone greening and beautification efforts by the Kaohsiung City Government. To enhance the recreational experience in the Guanyin Mountain Scenic Area, a viewing platform has been constructed at the highest point of the newly completed cycling and walking trail around Guanyin Lake. Visitors can overlook the entire lake area, taking in the beautiful scenery of the lake and surrounding mountains, and watch birds such as egrets and night herons that often perch on the lake. With its minimalist design, the platform adds a serene and tranquil atmosphere, along with a sense of Zen, to the Guanyin Lake area.

The Guanyin Lake area will officially open on January 29, 2014, and will be accessible daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.It offers the public a new destination for travel, leisure cycling, hiking, or walks during the Lunar New Year holidays or any other time. The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau welcomes everyone to come and admire the beauty of Guanyin Lake.
