Taiwan’s Newest Hit: Lobster Sandwich in Taichung Featuring a Whole Fresh Lobster!

Enjoy a “Lobster Sandwich” without heading to Tokyo’s Omotesando Up！ And it’s even made with a whole, just-caught lobster stuffed right inside…

This “Lady Lobster” in Nantun District, Taichung has been all the rage lately. Not long after we heard about its opening, we saw tons of blog posts popping up—everyone’s really quick on the uptake… XD

The other day, a friend asked me if I’d tried “Lady Lobster.” I said yes, but hadn’t written about it yet… (I wasn’t feeling it because the photos didn’t turn out great and I couldn’t muster the energy to sort through them!)

Well, I know people don’t come to my blog for my amazing photography skills—definitely not—but maybe because I’m so approachable… Hahaha… Is that really how I console myself?

“Lady Lobster” is located on Yongchun East 7th Road in Nantun District, close to Wuchang West Road. There are three new restaurants in this row, and rumor has it they might all be owned by the same person…

That day, while having lunch with my bestie at “Xiao Rou Fan,” we noticed Lady Lobster was in soft opening across the street. We really wanted to grab one right then, but turns out they were closed in the afternoon… (Sniff~) Later, seeing all the great reviews from bloggers, and since we were in the area, we decided to get one to go and try it at home…

We arrived at 5:30 PM and found the shop had just raised its gate, with a few customers already waiting outside…

The interior is simple, with no overly flashy decor, but it feels clean and refreshing… Just a simple counter and a semi-open kitchen—that’s it…

How does this hand holding a business card remind me of a chayote? Speaking of which… does anyone know that dragon beard vegetable is actually the tender leaves of chayote?

There are only four tables, each seating just two people—it seems you can’t get a seat without a reservation!

There are storage baskets next to the seats—such a thoughtful touch…

You can see the chefs cooking through the glass—everything’s crystal clear… (So no sneaky smoking or nose-picking allowed… XD)

The takeout paper bag… Someone said they’ll bring me a lobster sandwich next time—remember, breaking a food promise makes you gain weight, XD!

Menu… The lobster sandwich comes in 5 flavors, priced around NT$620–NT$650… There are also scallop sandwiches, snow crab sandwiches, and king crab sandwiches…

Carrying an elegant tote bag, I took it home to eat…

French Lemon Cream – NT$620. Actually, I forgot which flavor I ordered…

The lobster sandwich features a whole, just-caught lobster—it’s super firm and springy, way tastier than I expected…

The rest is lemon cream sauce and lettuce, with a hint of freshness from the celery… The bread is just how I like it—the crust is slightly crispy, the inside soft… The filling is refreshing, paired with the tangy-sweet lemon cream, and I finished the whole sandwich in no time… Then I consoled myself: Well, eating a sandwich for dinner won’t make me gain as much weight!

“Lady Lobster” is way tastier than expected, and the lobster is super fresh—it’s refreshingly delicious in summer… Wishing I could get one for free next time XD
