Many locals in Taichung are surely familiar with “Fuzi Xiu.” Every afternoon, a mobile food truck cruises through the streets and alleys, drawing crowds that form long lines wherever it goes. Its signature items include sausages, sticky rice sausages, and garlic salted pork. Recently, the “Fuzi Xiu Mobile Food Truck” has finally settled into a permanent spot at Yidianli Evening Market in Beitun, Taichung.

In addition to being available à la carte, the signature sausages and sticky rice sausages also come in several combo meals, offering customers more choices. Unlike typical barbecue, this place serves a unique item you won’t find elsewhere — “peanut pork intestine.” The outer layer of the intestine has a slightly chewy texture, and the highlight is the burst of peanuts in every bite. Regular customers always order this dish.

In addition to the three main items, each combo meal comes with three side dishes such as pickled radish, bean sprouts, or cucumber — all with a sweet Taiwanese flavor. The sticky rice sausage, with added peanuts, has a bit more texture. The casing is thin but chewy, and the salted pork is crispy outside and tender inside. Paired with the sides, every bite is simply a perfect match with a truly unique taste.

Although Fuzi Xiu’s dishes are delicious, they often attract huge crowds, and since all ingredients are prepared on-site, customers have sometimes waited nearly three hours to get their food during busy times. But now that Fuzi Xiu has a fixed location, it’s no longer as unpredictable as before, so food lovers definitely shouldn’t miss out.
