Last chance to see cherry blossoms this year！ The Alishan Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off on the 10th

Don’t miss your final opportunity to admire cherry blossoms this year (2014)! The “Alishan Cherry Blossom Festival,” one of Taiwan’s premier cherry blossom events, will run from the 10th to April 10th, offering a full month of floral beauty. The festival features various cherry blossom varieties including mountain cherries, Yoshino cherries, and double-flowered cherries. Additionally, traffic and visitor controls will be implemented when the festival begins.

Due to weather conditions this year, the blossom season starts five days earlier than usual, with over 5,000 cherry trees in bloom. These include nearly 2,000 Yoshino cherries, more than 1,780 Taiwan mountain cherries, and over a thousand double-flowered cherries, all set to flower within the recreation area.

When the festival begins on the 10th, traffic and total visitor limits will also be enforced. Controls will be applied along Highway 18 from Kilometer 66 at Hudi to the Tatachia area. Visitor limits include 10,000 group tourists, 2,000 staying overnight, 2,000 individual visitors, plus an additional 2,000 people entering outside the controlled hours.
