Thai Songkran Festival Delights: Royal Cuisine Served at Sheraton

The annual Songkran Festival is a grand celebration in Thailand, symbolizing the welcome of the New Year and praying for blessings in the year ahead.Phonlaphat Sudsaidee, the Thai executive chef of the Hsieh She Group, and Ms. Rapeeporn Sillapakit, the new head chef of SUKHOTHAIwill join forces to present classic and delicious Thai dishes. Chef Rapeeporn boasts over 20 years of culinary experience and specializes in various royal desserts.

From April 5 (Sat) to April 15 (Tue), 2014, the Sheraton SUKHOTHAI and SUKHOTHAI Shin Kong Xinyi Store will simultaneously launch an 11-day Songkran Festival celebration, allowing guests to enjoy the skills of both chefs. Additionally, there is a limited-edition 2014 Evian commemorative bottle to take home as a token of blessings.

Meanwhile, from April 21 to May 4, the Sheraton Taipei Hotel’s Ke Ke Lou Restaurant will feature the “Flavor Quest” cuisine by new head chef Lin Jinde. With over 30 years in the industry, Chef Lin has worked at Yuheyuan (now Yuxi Hotel), Jiyuan, the Hunan Garden during the La La Hotel era, as well as Taiwanese cuisine restaurants, before returning to Ke Ke Lou. Chef Ad (Lin Jinde) carries on the culinary spirit of Ke Ke Lou, blending his background in Sichuan, Hunan, and Taiwanese cuisines to breathe new life into the restaurant’s offerings.
