The first “Taiwan International Boat Show” to be held at Kaohsiung Exhibition Center on May 8

The first “2014 Taiwan International Boat Show (2014 Taiwan International Boat Show)” will be grandly held from May 8 to 11 of this year (103) at the newly completed Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. Currently, the exhibition has received an enthusiastic response from various sectors, and the upcoming event promises to be spectacular.

Ocean Affairs Council Minister Lau Ray-long stated that the boat show is the largest premium yacht exhibition in Asia. So far, 168 exhibitors have registered, occupying over 860 booths, including 25 domestic yacht manufacturers showcasing more than 40 indoor yachts. The event has also invited over 40 overseas exhibitors from more than 10 countries to participate. The exhibition will feature various zones, including a marine vessel display area, luxury goods zone, international exhibitor zone, water sports and leisure zone, marine accessories zone, and maritime services zone.

In addition, to promote Kaohsiung as a maritime capital actively engaging in water-based recreational activities, the event will collaborate with the Taiwan Offshore Racing Association to gather 15 elite teams from 9 countries for the “2014 Taiwan International Offshore Racing Invitational.” This exciting competition will offer the public a thrilling close-up experience of high-level sailing and further ignite enthusiasm for marine activities. Moreover, to continue fostering marine culture and education, and to enhance public appreciation for water recreation and aesthetic design, the “Third Yacht Design Competition” will also be held, providing a creative platform and adding further diversity to the event.

Lau Ray-long noted that the “2014 Taiwan International Boat Show” is the largest international professional yacht exhibition in Asia in terms of scale, number of vessels displayed, and total exhibit value, which amounts to NT$5 billion. The show will feature several newly launched yachts that combine exquisite craftsmanship and energy-efficient designs, attracting significant attention from international yacht buyers. Tickets will be required for entry. Starting April 7, the public can purchase tickets through the iBon ticketing system at 7-Eleven stores nationwide or buy them on-site. On-site tickets are priced at NT$380, while early-bird tickets are available at NT$250 from April 7 to April 27 via iBon. The second wave of discounted presale tickets at NT$300 will be available from April 28 to May 7, with limited quantities sold daily.
