Taitung's "Fangliao Day" Invites the Public to Experience Hakka Village Culture

“Fangliao Day – Come Join the Hakka FunThe event kicked off on the 18th at the Chihshang Taitung Hakka Cultural Park, inviting multiple Hakka groups to put on lively performances. Taitung County Magistrate Hwang Ken-teng was personally present to enjoy the festivities with fellow Hakka community members.

The "Fangliao Day – Come Join the Hakka Fun" event aims to enhance ethnic integration within the region and promote balanced multicultural development. It includes both static and dynamic exhibitions at the Hakka Cultural Park, along with special Hakka festivals such as Tianguan Day, Tonghua Festival, and the Taitung Good Rice Harvest Festival, one of the 12 major Hakka village celebrations.

"Fangliao Day – Come Join the Hakka Fun", in Hakka, means everyone takes a holiday to come to the Hakka villages for a good time, enjoying and experiencing Hakka culture. The event also features a variety of Hakka cultural performances, including erhu music by the Guanshan Degao Elderly Association, ba-yin (traditional eight-tone ensemble) by the Degao Community Development Association, dance performances by the Taitung Liudui Fellow Villagers Association, percussion by the Chixin Hakka Mountain Song Orchestra, as well as song and dance acts by the Taitung Hakka Women’s Association, the Lilong Community Development Association, and the Ruiyuan Hakka Rhyme Art Troupe.
