Sublime performance: Fulfilling dreams and promoting the beauty of Taitung — Indigenous children from a flash mob in Taipei Main Station

In the bustling hall of Taipei Main Station, on April 13, a group of Indigenous children from the Kati Tribe in Zhiben, Taitung, suddenly appeared and began singing loudly while performing traditional dances, attracting travelers to stop and watch. Toward the end of the performance, the children shouted, “Welcome to Taitung.” The roughly 10-minute flash mob not only fulfilled the children’s small dream of traveling to Taipei but also showcased the “most beautiful scenery” unique to Taitung.

The Zhiben Laiwu Hotel in Taitung, which planned this flash mob event, stated that these children from the Tapung Dance Search Dance Troupe and the Children’s Choir had never flown on a plane before and rarely had the opportunity to visit Taipei. This time, they invited Uni Air to support a “Dream Fulfillment Plan,” helping them take a flight from Taitung to Taipei. Through traditional Indigenous songs and dances, they aimed to let more people appreciate the beauty of Taitung.

The organizers noted that the performance included singing, violin, and dance. Prior to arriving in Taipei, the children had undergone extensive practice and rehearsals in hopes of delivering a perfect show. The Laiwu Hotel mentioned that the entire flash mob event was recorded and will be shared on online platforms in the future for more people to enjoy.
