An explosion occurred earlier today at 6:30 AM US Eastern Time on December 11 at the “Port Authority Bus Terminal” in Manhattan, New York. The latest update from the Tourism Bureau states that no reports have been received from tour operators regarding affected Taiwanese group tourists.

The Tourism Bureau stated that according to inquiries with relevant operators, the location of the incident is not part of the typical travel routes arranged for tour groups and is mostly visited by independent travelers. Further monitoring will continue, and updates will be provided as the situation develops.

An explosion at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, New York has resulted in multiple injuries. Authorities have urgently evacuated people from the scene, and bomb disposal units have arrived on-site. NYPD is investigating an explosion near Eighth Avenue and 42nd Street close to Times Square, which is 455 meters from the bus terminal. Currently, several major subway and public transit lines have been suspended. It is still unclear whether this was a terrorist attack, and detailed information remains limited, with the number of injured still being tallied.

On-site reports indicate that the explosion occurred in an underground passage next to the bus terminal, where a “pipe bomb” was detonated. Local media report that one person has been arrested, although the information has not yet been confirmed by NYPD.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated on Twitter that President Donald Trump had been briefed on the New York City explosion as soon as it happened.
