The annual 7-day cherry blossom tunnel at the Osaka Mint Bureau is now in full pink bloom!

Japan is currently in the midst of "pink explosion" season！ One of Osaka’s most highly anticipated cherry blossom spots, the Osaka Mint Bureau, will open its fully blossomed "Sakura Corridor" (hana no tsutsumi) exclusively for these seven days only—from today until the 17th. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular sight of over 130 varieties of cherry blossoms in full bloom.

The Osaka Mint Bureau's "hana no tsutsumi," listed among Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, stretches 560 meters and features 131 types and 350 cherry blossom trees. When in full bloom, it forms a long tunnel of blossoms. Since the entire cherry grove is only open to the public during this specific time each year, the area always attracts large crowds who come to admire the blooms despite the crowded conditions.

From today until April 17th, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the "hana no tsutsumi" will be fully open for these seven days only. Access is one-way, from the Mint Bureau’s South Gate (Tembaku Bridge side) to the North Gate (Sakuranomiya Bridge side). A night cherry blossom light show will also be held after sunset, offering a different kind of beautiful scenery compared to the daytime.

However, please note that due to the cherry blossom season, the Mint Museum and factory tours will be temporarily closed during this period, so visitors won’t be able to combine these activities. Eating, drinking, or smoking inside the premises is also not allowed.
