Nation’s only open registration for canoe triathlon—sports and adventure in Hualien, from mountains to sea

The “2014 Xiuguluan River International Canoe Triathlon,” the only national event combining canoeing, running, and cycling, will kick off on June 22, 2014, at the Xiuguluan River Visitor Center in Hualien, and registration is now officially open.
According to the organizer, the Tourism Bureau’s East Coast National Scenic Area Administration, to promote the spirit of “sports tourism,” this year’s event integrates various sports competitions along the East Coast, along with merchant discounts and tribal experience packages. In addition to participating in the races, athletes can also enjoy whale watching, tribal culture experiences, and catching flower crabs.
