The Central Weather Bureau issued at 22:25 on the evening of the 7thHeavy Rain Special Alert, affected by a stationary front, there is still a chance of localized heavy rain in the Nantou area from this evening (7th) to early tomorrow morning (8th), and there is also a chance of heavier localized rainfall in the mountainous regions of central and northern Taiwan. Travelers are advised to stay alert.

The bureau stated that this front will continue to linger near Taiwan tomorrow (8th), with weather conditions similar to those on the 7th, remaining unstable. Cloud cover will be relatively high across the island, with brief showers expected in areas north of central Taiwan and eastern parts of the country, while southern regions may also see scattered light rainfall. Therefore, it is advisable to carry rain gear when going out.

The bureau reminds everyone that continuous rainfall caused by the plum rain front has made the soil softer and more prone to landslides or even slope collapses. Extra caution is advised when driving in mountainous areas.
