Peak tourist season flights in high demand—Uni Air and TransAsia add 20,000 extra seats to Penghu

The peak tourist season in Penghu begins every April, and flights are always in high demand. The Penghu County Government Tourism Department has coordinated with the Civil Aeronautics Administration, and so far this year, over 20,000 additional flight seats have been added from Taiwan proper to Makung Airport.

The Penghu County Government Tourism Department stated that flights to Penghu during this period are always in short supply. So far, the number of travelers has also increased compared to previous years, which is why early measures weren’t taken to accommodate the arrival of the tourist season by coordinating with airlines to increase flight frequency.

The currently added flights are as follows:

Uni Air
In May, additional flights will be operated every Monday, Friday, and Sunday: Kaohsiung–Makung departing at 19:35 and Makung–Kaohsiung departing at 20:40. On May 8, 22, and 29, additional flights will be added: Kaohsiung–Makung departing at 14:00 and Makung–Kaohsiung departing at 15:10.
TransAsia Airways
In May and June, two additional round-trip flights will be added for both Taipei–Makung and Kaohsiung–Makung routes. In May, additional round-trip flights between Makung–Kinmen will be added every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. In June, one more weekly flight will be added for Makung–Kinmen on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
