Eight Silver-Haired Wellness Routes: Grandparents Can Easily Enjoy Tamsui Too

From May to December 2014, every 8th of the month from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Tamsui Historic Sites Museum under the New Taipei City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs will hostthe free “New Taipei Silver Age Day – Explore Tamsui Historic Sites”museum care series for senior citizens, inviting seniors aged 65 and above to explore the historical memories of the greater Tamsui area with the Tamsui Historic Sites Museum, achieving a healthy and joyful lifestyle.

The Tamsui Historic Sites Museum has specially curated eight different heritage tour routes for seniors and invited veteran instructors and guides from various fields to provide commentary. The tours are planned according to seasons and themes, including routes such as the MacKay Trail, the Customs and Foreign Firms of Tamsui’s Port Opening Era, Pilgrimages of Han Chinese Folk Beliefs, and the Real Rebuilt Old Street of Tamsui. Additionally, the souvenir shop at Fort San Domingo, “Red Town Boutique,” has launched special “Tamsui Historic Sites Silver Age Day” promotions and a “Little Hands Holding Big Hands – Silver Age DIY” activity for seniors.
