Thousands of trumpet lilies bloom in unison, welcoming visitors with their fragrant white sea of flowers at Neishuangxi Nature Center

As May arrives and nature gradually matures, the lily fields at Neishuangxi Nature Center have also burst into full bloom.

As Taipei City’s first forest-based environmental education site, the center is planted with thousands of trumpet lilies that reliably bloom every May. The trumpet-shaped blooms create a uniquely scenic sight. This year, the lilies along the Bixi Industrial Road kicked off the blooming season in early May, followed by those within the park in mid-May, with the flowering period lasting about 20 days.

According to the Taipei City Bureau of Urban Development, the sea of trumpet lilies at Neishuangxi Nature Center is the result of years of careful cultivation. To allow the public to get closer to the lilies, the center will be open for free self-guided visits daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, from May 10 to June 2 (closed on Mondays for maintenance), except for Mondays when it is closed for environmental tidying.

By car: Drive up Bixi Industrial Road from Section 3 of Zhishan Road (parking available).
By public transport: From Jiantan MRT Station, transfer to 1. Citizen Mini Bus Line 1 to Xishan Nursery Stop, or 2. Mini Bus Line 18 to Bixi Bridge Stop, then walk about 20 minutes to Neishuangxi Nature Center.
