Thailand’s martial law affects tourism; airlines say situation remains to be seen

With the recent political instability in Thailand, the tourism industry has also been affected. Currently, on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Bureau of Consular Affairs, Thailand as a whole is under a yellow alert, but southern Thailand and the border areas near Cambodia are listed as orange alerts.

According to Thai Airways, although tourist attractions and airports and other hardware facilities will not be affected, the political environment may also affect tourists' willingness to travel. Since today (May 20) is only the first day of martial law, the subsequent developments still need to be observed, and flight schedules have not been affected so far.
