Knock on Do Min-jun’s Door – Seoul’s “My Love from the Star” Exhibition Recreates Iconic Scenes in Full Detail

The wildly popular Korean drama “My Love from the Star,” which swept across Asia earlier this year, is now launching a special exhibition series in Seoul’s Dongdaemun area starting today. The exhibition fully unveils classic sets such as the elevator where Cheon Song-yi and Do Min-jun first met, their residences, and Do Min-jun’s study. There’s also an interactive “dynamic filming experience” set against the backdrop of Petite France, allowing fans to relive all the romantic and iconic moments from the drama.

The “My Love from the Star” exhibition is divided into nine themed zones: “Coincidence,” “Encounter,” “Palpitation,” and more. It opens with the palanquin that Xu Yi-hwa rode in when she first met Do Min-jun, as well as the clothes he wore upon arriving on Earth. Then it transitions to the present day. Organizers have faithfully recreated over ten filming locations from the show, including Do Min-jun and Cheon Song-yi’s homes — such as the living room platform where Professor Do used to lie back and gaze at his home planet, Cheon Song-yi’s glamorous celebrity-style bedroom, and the professor’s book-filled study. Some of these sets even allow visitors to step inside and take photos, delighting fans who have made the trip.

Do Min-jun’s study (below), which houses 400 years’ worth of precious books, contains real volumes, and even the newspaper on the desk is dated 2003, the fictional year of the drama’s setting.

Additionally, there is a meteorite exhibition space displaying a real meteorite that landed in Korea in March of this year — symbolizing Professor Do’s return to Earth. In the “dynamic filming experience” zone, where visitors can try out the drama’s shooting techniques, the background is set in Petite France, and 20–30 cameras are set up on-site specifically to film guests. This photo experience is free, but if you want to purchase the photos, they cost 6,000 KRW (approximately 180 NTD).

The “My Love from the Star” Dongdaemun exhibition runs from today until August 15 at the DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) A1 Hall, which was itself one of the drama’s filming locations. The venue offers bilingual (Chinese and English) guided tours to help fans revisit the romantic love story between Do Min-jun and Cheon Song-yi.
