"Electronic Music Nezha Trio" Showcases Soft Power: Sanchong District in Kaohsiung Hosts a Heroic Competition

Nezha, the Third Prince, is one of the most approachable figures in Taiwanese folk belief. In particular, the "Electronic Music Nezha Trio" has demonstrated Taiwan’s diverse soft power on the international stage—not only dancing to electronic music but also stepping onto global platforms and becoming a symbol of Greater Kaohsiung. Following the huge success of the "Happy Nezha Trio Hero Meet" event jointly organized last year (2013) by Sanchong District Office and Taiwan’s largest Nezha temple, "Sanchong Temple," this year the event again centers on the theme of "happiness" in line with Kaohsiung’s municipal development goals. With the romantic ambiance of Qixi Festival added in, the Nezha Trio will display their nimble moves, competing and learning from one another through creative performances in a friendly contest.

The event is scheduled to be held again on August 2 and 3, 2014 (Saturday and Sunday, Qixi Festival on the lunar calendar) at the Sanchong Temple Plaza in Kaohsiung. On the first day (August 2), a creative dance competition for both student and general public groups will take place. The first prize for the general public group is NT$100,000, and for the student group, NT$70,000. There is special anticipation for elite Electronic Music Nezha Trio performers from all over the country to gather at Sanchong Temple in Kaohsiung, engaging in an exciting hero dance battle, showcasing energy and creativity through dance.
