China Airlines flight from Osaka to Kaohsiung diverted to Naha due to suspected oil leak, delayed by 6 hours

China Airlines flight discovers oil leak and makes emergency landing. Flight CI167 from Osaka to Kaohsiung, today (26th), experienced a suspected oil leak mid-flight as detected by the captain. Originally scheduled to return to Taiwan at 2:50 PM, the flight was diverted to Naha Airport in Okinawa, resulting in a delay of over 6 hours.

China Airlines stated that Flight CI167 took off at 12:43 PM Japan time, and during the flight, the captain noticed a decrease in fuel level and abnormal speed, leading to the decision to divert to Naha Airport in Okinawa. The plane landed safely at 2:26 PM, with all 154 passengers dining at the airport while waiting. They will take a delayed flight departing at 8:45 PM to arrive at Taoyuan, and China Airlines will arrange for passengers to take the high-speed rail or other means to return to Kaohsiung.
