Taiwan Railways Timetable Major Changes Starting July 16: Two Additional Taroko Express Services at Zhunan Station

With the launch of the Puyuma Express, Taiwan Railways will also implement major timetable adjustments starting July 16. Among the changes, two additional Taroko Express services will stop at Zhunan Railway Station, which is expected to shorten the journey from Zhunan to Hualien by 40 minutes.

Taiwan Railways stated that the Taroko Express has never previously stopped in the Taoyuan-Zhubei-Miaoli area. After evaluation, it has been decided that starting July 16, two services will stop at Zhunan Station. One is Train No. 278 from Changhua to Hualien, departing from Zhunan Station at 8:05 a.m.; the other is Train No. 285 from Hualien to Changhua, departing from Zhunan at 9:45 p.m.

It is worth noting that after the Taroko Express began operations, considering safety risks for standing passengers during high-speed turns, no standing tickets will be sold. The service will operate on a reserved-seating basis only, and electronic ticketing such as periodical tickets, EasyCard, Taiwan Pass, and iPASS will not be accepted.
