Today I want to share with you a painted village located in Hujia Li, Shanhua, Tainan, which was jointly created free of charge by about seven or eight adults and children.

The main initiator is a young lady who, because she has relatives living here, was suddenly inspired and thought of painting the walls of her relatives’ home. Unexpectedly, it was highly praised by nearby neighbors, which led to more walls becoming available for painting.

These main painters do not receive any compensation, so the nearby neighbors could only show their appreciation by giving them boxed meals and providing cold water.

Although small, every wall is very cute and great for photos.

Painted villages first appeared in Taichung, and Boge has also been to the painted village in Taichung.

Although small, the colors are bright and rich. It is said that all of them were painted by an elderly man who lives there. Looking at the graffiti on the walls, one can’t help but admire the painter’s stamina and painting skills.

Painted communities have become increasingly popular in recent years. Through the local residents beautifying their own residential areas with their own hands,

it not only strengthens the cohesion among locals, deepens relationships as they work together to accomplish something, but also enhances their emotional connection to the land.

The creation method for these walls involves using projection to sketch the figures on the wall first, then slowly filling in the colors.

And this particular wall clearly feels different from the others—it lacks rigid, perfect lines, and instead has a more casual and adorable hand-drawn feel.

This wall was entirely created by an 8-year-old child.

According to local residents, this painted village has caught the attention of government authorities, who have promised to fund making the painted village bigger and more beautiful.
