In recent years, glass-themed resort homestays have become popular in Taiwan. With warm sunlight streaming across the bed or bathtub, guests can relax amidst the natural scenery surrounding the homestay. These dreamy and photogenic glass villas have become a top accommodation choice for couples and best friends traveling together.

The Waterside Star Villa in Dongshan Township was once the filming location of the wildly popular idol drama “Corner with Love.” Now in its eighth year of operation, every room at Waterside Star Villa has been thoughtfully designed by the owner and his wife. Although it’s not a newly opened club, the quality of accommodation remains excellent thanks to the owners’ dedicated management. Each room has a unique theme, but the popular VIP double glass villa stands out – not only are three sides of the room equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, even the ceiling is made of glass, allowing you to fall asleep under the starry sky and wake up in natural sunlight. The room is designed without additional partitions, and its vertical layout plus abundant natural light make it appear even more spacious visually.

Yilan Aura Villa - Leisure Light

Aura Villa - Leisure Light Resort Homestay is not far from the famous Yilan attraction, Plum Lake, which has also been a filming location for idol dramas such as “The Other Woman,” “Saving 21 Carats of Love,” and “A Chinese Ghost Story.” The elongated main building features a geometric design style, with elegant white walls, wood, and glass windows that come together in a futuristic yet harmonious way. Most of the accommodation rooms are located within the white building, except for one double glass villa situated by the pool.

The standalone double glass villa by the pool is arguably the top choice for many couples. Large floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides offer views of the pool and riverside when the curtains are drawn. Not only are there large floor-to-ceiling windows on the sides, but there’s also a small skylight overhead. On a clear night, simply pull back the skylight curtain to lie in bed and gaze at the stars; the next morning, you can wake up naturally with the sun shining in. Since the small skylight doesn’t pose much risk of overheating, just remember to close all the surrounding curtains before going to bed, or you might end up being admired by other guests for your sleeping face the next morning.

Hualien Houhu Shuiyue Resort Villa
