"Gan" is good news: Jay Chou’s lyricist Vincent Fang honored as Jiangxi Tourism Cultural Exchange Star

The "Jiangxi Scenery Is Uniquely Beautiful" tourism promotion event, hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial Tourism Development Commission, was held on July 22 at Taipei’s Grand Hotel. Jiangxi Provincial Party SecretaryQiang Weiled a delegation to attend the event in Taiwan. The Cross-Straits Tourism Exchange AssociationXie Weijun, Chairman of the Taiwan Travel Quality Assurance AssociationXu Jinrui, as well as leaders of major Taiwanese tourism associations, guilds, and over 300 travel agencies also participated. Among them, musician and lyricistVincent Fang, who hails from Jiangxi, also appeared on-site to promote Jiangxi tourism, becoming a highlight of the event.

At the event, videos introduced famous Jiangxi attractions such as Mount Lu, Jingdezhen, Longhu Mountain, and Poyang Lake. Professional dancers also performed artistic dances that highlighted Jiangxi’s porcelain and tea culture.

To strengthen cooperation with Taiwanese travel agencies, the Jiangxi Provincial Tourism Bureau presented travel passes to six agencies—Lion Travel, Kuo Kuang Motor Transport, Shanzu, Yangming, Shinan, and Southeast—that excelled in sending visitors to Jiangxi. These agencies were also awarded plaques as "Outstanding Travel Agencies Contributing to Jiangxi-Taiwan Tourism Cooperation."

Music producerVincent Fang, who has collaborated multiple times with Jay Chou to create many classic songs, hails from Ganzhou, Jiangxi. He previously returned to his ancestral home with his father to trace their roots. Due to Fang’s achievements in music, Qiang Wei specially awarded him the honorary certificate for "Jiangxi Tourism Cultural Exchange Star" at the event.

In his speech, Vincent Fang said that watching the promotional video about Jiangxi gave him the same emotional feeling he had when returning to his hometown. He also gifted Qiang Wei a piece of his own calligraphy as a keepsake.

Jiangxi is the inland Chinese province closest to Taiwan. Its capital, Nanchang, has been included in the latest batch of cities opened for independent travel and is expected to soon offer visa-on-arrival services for Taiwanese travelers.Qiang Weistated that exchanges between Taiwan and Jiangxi are close, and Jiangxi is striving to become a strong tourism province. With rich tourism content, a long history, and beautiful landscapes, he sincerely invited Taiwanese people to come and experience it firsthand.

In addition to the tourism promotion event, Chiayi County Tourism Association and Yichun City Tourism Association of Jiangxi Province signed an agreement to ally Alishan and Mingyue Mountain as sister mountains, aiming to deepen future exchanges between the two areas.
