Seven Lakes Tourist Blood Clam Garden & Clam Experience – Just Two Days Left in the Event

As part of the “Tainan Summer Sea Paradise” series of events, which include the “One Sight, Two Wonders Art Festival,” “Seven Lakes Seafood Festival,” and “Masagou Music Festival,” the Seven Lakes Seafood Festival’s Tourist Blood Clam Garden & Clam Experience has seen strong turnout since opening on July 12. On the first day, around 3,000 visitors attended, and on the second day, single-day attendance surpassed 6,000. This Saturday and Sunday (July 26–27) mark the final week of the Seven Lakes Tourist Blood Clam Garden & Clam Experience. Free admission will still be available from 3–6 p.m. at Qigu Liukong Wharf during these two days, so those who love summer water activities should seize the final opportunity.

Qigu Lagoon covers an area of over 1,300 hectares, and this event has designated a 2-hectare experience zone to allow visitors to learn about Qigu District as a source of clean water, abundant seafood, and ecological conservation, as well as to promote parent-child learning through fun. The blood clam, also known as the “ringed venus clam,” is a wild species with limited numbers and also serves as an indicator of a pollution-free ecological environment.

The “Seven Lakes Seafood Festival” series, which combines ecology, food, leisure, and music, will feature a “Longshan Three Treasures Tasting & Music Banquet” at the Qigu Longshan Fishermen’s Activity Center on July 26. Activities include DIY black-faced spoonbill and milkfish crafts, delicious seafood tastings, and performances, offering a rich and exciting program. On August 2, there will be a “Dumpling Festival – Shulin Wuhé” event in front of Bao’an Temple in Shulinli, Qigu.

The event organizer, the Tourism Bureau, kindly reminds everyone that as it is currently peak summer, visitors coming to join the experience activities should take proper sun protection measures. When digging for clams in the water, wear thick socks to avoid injury. Additionally, as thunderstorms often occur in Tainan in the afternoon, if the weather is unfavorable on the day of the event, visitor safety will be the top priority, and adjustments to the activity schedule may be made accordingly.
